I think many of us for the most part, hate tax season. Even if you are going to receive a return; you still have to pay someone else to sit there and do your paper work. Last year I paid over two hundred dollars to have someone else prepare my taxes. Every year I tell myself that I want to go to school to learn to prepare my taxes on my own. Well recently I looked into it and found out that during tax season if I decided to get certified I can end up making thousands of dollars helping others with their taxes. All it takes is basic training, a computer, access to the internet and tax preparation software. H&R block, Jackson Hewitt and other companies offer preparation courses. The courses normally cost less than a hundred dollars, and normally its just the cost of your training materials. You learn how to handle deductions, credits and calculate taxes, and you learn about new tax credits and requirements. After the courses you normally receive a certificate that you can use to recruit customers. You can easily do this out of your home and all most of the forms you need you can download off the IRS website. All you would need left is to work up your pricing and you just have to really remember to be competitive but also make sure that you’re making enough to show revenue. You could also check with your local government to see if you need to obtain any other licenses, but in most cases you don’t.
