Just today my husband said it was time to plan a family vacation. The only thing he asked was that I book it because he hates having to stress about everything and getting vacation packages together. Personally I love doing it. I know it can be time consuming but I really love sitting there looking at all the options and seeing all the pictures of the hotels. My husband mentioned that I should go into becoming a travel agent, so I did just that. While I have learned that there is not too much money in travel agents, it is still a good part time job that you can work around almost any schedule. I do not see it as being a job to depend on to support you or your family, but it is a good way to get some extra cash. There are a few websites that can help you get started at home, that can provide everything you need to get started and help get on lists to have clients contact you. Many of these sites have testimonial’s on their websites, but I would try doing some more research and get more information to insure it us not a scam prior to paying for their services.

Tax world at your fingertips
September 19th, 2009I think many of us for the most part, hate tax season. Even if you are going to receive a return; you still have to pay someone else to sit there and do your paper work. Last year I paid over two hundred dollars to have someone else prepare my taxes. Every year I tell myself that I want to go to school to learn to prepare my taxes on my own. Well recently I looked into it and found out that during tax season if I decided to get certified I can end up making thousands of dollars helping others with their taxes. All it takes is basic training, a computer, access to the internet and tax preparation software. H&R block, Jackson Hewitt and other companies offer preparation courses. The courses normally cost less than a hundred dollars, and normally its just the cost of your training materials. You learn how to handle deductions, credits and calculate taxes, and you learn about new tax credits and requirements. After the courses you normally receive a certificate that you can use to recruit customers. You can easily do this out of your home and all most of the forms you need you can download off the IRS website. All you would need left is to work up your pricing and you just have to really remember to be competitive but also make sure that you’re making enough to show revenue. You could also check with your local government to see if you need to obtain any other licenses, but in most cases you don’t.
Daycare
September 17th, 2009Women have a hard choice to make sometimes after giving birth to a newborn. It is hard to let go of your new baby to return to work. Sometimes it’s too hard to let go and we try to find a way to be able to support our family and stay home to raise them. Daycare could be a solution to that problem, especially if you love children. Which better way to spend your time than seeing the joy of children and sharing their memories with them on a daily basis. When it comes to running a daycare out of your home, there are no educational requirements with the exception of CPR classes and certification. There are some other great positive reasons to open a home daycare; you get better tax breaks than any other at home businesses. You can deduct the cost of a percentage of your household that is used for the daycare. You can also deduct food, gifts, toys, clothes, supplies, transportation and schooling as it pertains to the daycare. Another great benefit is that daycare is in high demand. Daycare isn’t cheap and good daycare’s are hard to find. If you have a quality daycare with reasonable prices you are bound to be able to make a living. You also will make money for spending everyday with your own child.
Teleconferencing
September 15th, 2009If you have never heard of teleconferencing, than you must not be working for a big corporation. In the past few years, many large companies have expanded and have since opened offices across the world. Prior to the great technology we now have, company heads and important employee’s use to fly out for training sessions, important large meetings and it became a huge expense and impractical. But now thanks to the technology such as audio teleconferencing, companies are able to link up from just sitting down from their own workspace by phone or internet. You are able to have hundreds of people on one conference and showing them all the same presentations or training sessions by just a click of a button on your computer. In 2008, audio teleconferencing revenue was up in the billions. . Teleconferencing has operators standing by to help connect your parties together and even help you run a conference. Operators are able to work from their own home using the same technology. It’s a great opportunity for business owners; they have no extra costs such as rent on an office space, office supplies, travel costs, electricity. Even your employee’s pay their own internet. It’s a business that will continue to grow and help other business cut travel cost.
Immigrants Play An Integral Part
July 8th, 2009To some degree, it is important to remember the whole picture. I am getting a little bit political in the way that I say yes, we have the right to control our borders with immigration and everything like that, but at the same point in time we do this to ourselves in a way being that we make it so difficult for people from poorer countries to get in. It’s not easy for first world countries by any means, but it’s not nearly as hard for them to get legal status, at least temporarily. But back to the impact on the economy. Unfortunately, while we like to blame immigrants sometimes for our current predicament, they are suffering through it just like the rest of us, and the truth is in good times, many of them couldn’t afford to have one stay at home or otherwise, because they take the worst jobs in many cases that most Americans are “too good” to take. Some Americans like to deny this. But they make up an integral part of our workforce, and without them the economy would have much greater problems. Sometimes they take the construction jobs I know very well Americans would take. But more often, I’ve seen them taking seasonal jobs like fruit picking, I’ve seen them riding their bikes to clean up horse manure, they take shipping type jobs for various companies, essentially speaking they are taking the jobs that no one else actually wants to do, or at least most Americans don’t want to do. Many times, they don’t even have the luxury of factory jobs that Americans would actually take. But they do the necessary things that many of us think we’re too good for.

Work Another Job
July 3rd, 2009If you’ve ever considered a home business, start out small. It’s one thing if you are building a business outside of your home to dedicate yourself to its building and be poor for a while. But if you are working from home and you don’t necessarily have to have set hours, you can therefore afford to work a part time job in the meantime just to pay the bills.
Now I hope you won’t fall for those medical billing or other scams in the first place. But for example, if you want to sell a certain type of product that you produce or order from the comfort of your own home, set apart a certain number of hours per day. Maybe even set a schedule for yourself. And then balance that out with another job. So maybe you take a morning job and then work in the afternoons or evening on your own home business. This will allow your business to grow without leading you to give up all else and even possibly go into major debt. It will also allow you to have a practical outlook on everything. And of course, should you decide to drop all others, make sure that your business is actually bringing in enough money for at least a year before.
The IRS And Home Business
June 9th, 2009If you have a home business, you may forget about saving up for taxes, think you can sneak past them, or otherwise. Now if you’ve never filed a tax return in the first place, they are less likely to catch you and come after you. But if you have filed a report in the past, even once, you have to remember to keep proper books, file for a business license, and other formalities of sorts, and above all pay your taxes.
The best thing to do in many cases would be to enlist the help of a qualified accountant. Whether you pay them to be at your personal beck and call or you just find one that works for people in general, it is highly useful and they can keep better track of your taxes or figure it out for you later. they can also keep you informed on the best ways to keep track of things in general.
In addition, the IRS is more likely to look deeper into home businesses, because home business owners have a tendency to keep inaccurate records and end up having to report to aduits and pay fines and penalties in general terms. If you keep all cancelled checks, receipts, etc, it can certainly help.
Frankly, small businesses are among the most likely groups to cheat on taxes, experience errors even if small, and otherwise cheat the IRS. So they keep a close eye on you as you should on your papers. Really, even if you don’t make deposits to your bank, they have methods of weeding you out, and you should make sure to report all cash transactions as a result. Small things like this can make the difference between suffering through an audit or keeping your taxes in working order.
